Rochester,
a town rich with history,
is a picturesque village
nestled in the Route 100 valley about half way between
Killington and Sugarbush ski areas. It is a
self-sufficient little place with a K-12
school, 2
churches, library, grocery store, hardware store, bank,
credit union, cafe and several B&B's. The area also
has several small businesses which employ local folk. Much
of the western portion of town lies within the Green
Mountain National Forest. The Long Trail winds along the
top of the ridge. The eastern side is called the
"hollows" where one finds both farm and forest
land and superb views.
