Sharon, chartered on August 17, 1761, is located off Exit 2 from I-89, and on Route 14 between the larger towns of South Royalton and Hartford and part of Windsor County.  Sharon claims the birthplace of Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormon Religion.

Sharon boasts its own elementary school, which is the pride of the community.  However, grades 7-12 are tuitioned to the school of their choice, usually either South Royalton, Hartford, or the Sharon Academy. Downer 4-H Camp provides educational summer recreation for many kids.  If you're looking for a place to stay, try Baxter Mountain House Bed and Breakfast, located just 1 1/2 miles from the village where the country stores attrack people from around the area.
